The dead of winter is prime time for creating. And the Adirondacks has a long history of inspiring art. The crystalline stillness of snowfall in the woods piques the creativity.
Come be part of an artistic community with Scott Adams and Heather Moore Niver. During these few days, stay where it’s warm and cozy or venture out into the cold. Inspiration could be anywhere: whispering in the hush of snowfall among the balsam; across a still, frozen Sacandaga Lake; or crackling among the flames of a roaring fire.
Spend your free time absorbing and/or creating. Write. Sing. Think. Paint. Knit. Photograph. Draw. The possibilities are endless. Create by yourself. Collaborate with others. Wander in search of inspiration. It’s up to you.
Taking time for your art is the key theme of these two days. The structure will be minimal, but we will begin each day with a short reading. The short opening session after Sunday evening dinner will include a little music and story as well as an outline of the retreat and some suggestions for ways to use your time. We will leave Monday evening open for a time of coming together as a group to share our creations.
